About Targretin (bexarotene) gel
Targretin gel contains bexarotene, a medication that is used to treat CTCL. Targretin gel is used for the topical treatment of skin lesions in patients with cutaneous T-cell lymphoma (CTCL) (Stage IA and IB) who have refractory or persistent disease after other therapies or who have not tolerated other therapies. Your doctor has prescribed Targretin for the topical treatment of cutaneous T-cell lymphoma (CTCL), or mycosis fungoides (MF) lesions (sometimes referred to as patches or plaques) on your skin. Your doctor must instruct you on the proper use of Targretin gel.
Targretin (bexarotene) gel is proven effective in treating CTCL. Targretin gel was effective in patients who had red, itchy patches, and raised areas called plaques.
Although there are certain things to remember about how to use Targretin gel, it can be used at home.
